My Story
Fresh out of university, I started a career in employment tax, and after three years of hard work, became CTA qualified in January 2019.
Like most of us, I’d studied for many exams before. But this was different. The CTA is notoriously difficult and having little time outside of work made it even more tough.
But, with determination, perseverance and hard work, I was a Chartered Tax Advisor within a year of starting.
It was a proud moment.
Full of enthusiasm, I was ready for the next challenge of progressing my career.
I was used to the structure, direction and guidance of studying towards exams, but suddenly that was all gone.
I found it difficult. I felt a little lost.
I had supportive colleagues, but ultimately it was down to me, and me alone, to determine my next steps and where to focus my energy, in order to develop my own career.
Despite the above, I found my feet, regained focus, and have been developing myself and career ever since.
I’m by no means an expert in tax-career development, and indeed I am still at an early stage in my own career (been in tax since 2015 & currently a Director in employment taxes). But what I am is enthused to share my knowledge and experiences, and where possible, interview experts, to ensure I give you top-quality information and insights, to help you develop and improve your tax career.
