TTPP 26: 8 Tax-Research Sins

Tax research is easy, right?

Can’t you get the answer to any tax question from Google?

Don’t be lured into a false sense of security, especially early on in your career. Tax is complicated, and the rules should not be underestimated.

Rather than take the typical episode approach of giving tips on how to do something, in this episode, I’m going to do the opposite. I’m going to give you the 8 Tax-Research Sins. These are all things you should AVOID doing, as they increase the chance of you getting the wrong answer, providing incomplete advice or are bad practice.

All the sins mentioned in this episode are either things I’ve done personally or have seen happen. It is intended to be light-hearted and educational, so you can avoid making these mistakes yourself.

Take a listen to find out more.
