TTPP43: Should you be Considering a Tax Job/Career Move? (with James Howell)

Without fail, the first thing I do with any Tax Adviser magazine is go straight to the job adverts. I’m quite nosey and I just find it interesting knowing what jobs are out there (particularly knowing the salary on the odd occasion that this is included!).

I don’t have any intention of applying.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what my career motivations and drivers are.

My main ones are progression, development, good work-life balance, and enjoyment.

I get all of those from my current role. If I didn’t, I’d consider a move.

As tax professionals, though, we do tend to be loyal, so the thought of seriously considering a move rarely crosses our minds.

But as you’ll find out, that can hold us back.

So, this episode is all about helping you decide whether you should be considering a career move or job change, with James Howell.

James Howell provides fee webinars to tax professionals, runs the UK Tax Summit each year with Peter Rayney and Pete Miller, and is the owner of The Tax Recruitment Company.

Taken a listen to find out if you should be considering a move!
