TTPP81: Tax Technology Director Shares What It’s Like to Work in Tax Tech with Alexander Kobakhidze [Tax Role Insights, Episode 3]

Get an exclusive glimpse into what it’s truly like to work in tax technology in this episode, through a candid, authentic, and (at times) funny discussion.

We could not be luckier with this episode’s guest – Alexandar Kobakhidze – who was Head of Tax Technology at Uber (how cool is that?) and he is now the Tax Technology Director for Fonoa, creating tax technology solutions for businesses.

He’s been working in this space now for almost 8 years – starting before the current ‘hype’ around tax technology, moving into it after starting his career as an indirect tax specialist at Deloitte.

In the episode, you’ll hear about the role of a tax tech specialist, what they do how tax technology benefits businesses (and how it could benefit you as a tax professional), the high-demand people to work in tax technology (which is great if you are interested in working in this space), the work-life balance for tax tech people, a bit about what you can expect to earn, and Alexander’s advice if you’re interested in becoming a tax tech specialist.

I, for one, feel like I understand the space well now. I clearly didn’t before this chat! My eyes have been opened into the possibilities of how tech can help with tax – and it’s a lot more than you think right now, I’m sure.
